Why Hillwalking?

Hill & Mountain walking is a term I found confusing when I first started enjoying  the outdoors, unsure whether I was going to be going for a relaxing walk or an steep slog with some technical aspects. The above definition of the term 'hill walking' can therefore range from some of the classic Grade I scrambles the UK has to offer all the way to a well groomed public bridleway, giving the perfect amount of variety to suit everyone's needs.

Eryri (Snowdonia)

Eryri in it's native language of Welsh, Snowdonia in English, is an area of the United Kingdom that has arguably some of the most striking (and certainly the most popular!) peaks on our beautiful island. Whether it be a day out on Wales' highest mountain Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), or a quieter day in the Carneddau, there is plenty of choice! Apart from it's stunning scenery, it is made popular due to it's proximity to major urban centres such as Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, making a fine and accessible day out in the hills.

 The Lake District

Tucked away in the northwest corner of England, the Lakes are certainly one of the prettiest parts of the country. Spread out over a vast area, shaped by the regions famous dales, meres and ghylls that gives the Lake District a unique feel. It is certainly obvious once visiting how these fells inspired many writers!!

Peaks and Dales

Within touching distance of major urban zones like Manchester and Sheffield, the Peaks and it's northern neighbour, the Dales, make for some excellent hill walking! Whether it be the hulking hills that make up the Yorkshire three peaks or the massive boggy expanses that make up the Dark Peak, stunning scenery and views are to be found all over.
