Scrambling

Scrambling in the UK is broken down into a grading system of varying difficulties. The grades are I,II and III in ascending order of difficulty or exposure. This system is calculated by considering the sustained and difficult nature of the scrambling involved coupled with the route's exposure.
Our single or multi day courses will cover:

-
Techniques for ascending and descending
-
Route selection and route finding
-
Efficient movement
-
Emergencies
-
All summarised in a practical day scrambling

We currently offer scrambles that do not require the planned use of rope, which tends to be most of the grade I scrambles. Thankfully, there are a wealth of classic scrambles across the UK that fit into this category! North Wales has some famous scrambles such as Tryfan's North Ridge or the razor sharp Crib Goch. The Lakes is famous for it's 'twin' ridges, Striding and Swirral Edge on Helvellyn, or the many ridges that make up Blencathra provide breathtaking days out to name a few!
